ARCADIA, Calif. – The national high school girls indoor and outdoor pole vault records still reside with the track and field program at Capital High in Olympia, Wash, and remain within the rarefied air at Northwest Pole Vault Club.

Following Saturday night’s competition at the 55th Arcadia Invitational, both Hana Moll and Amanda Moll can now call themselves record holders, and fittingly in true twin fashion, they are also both 15-foot competitors, still the only athletes to achieve the feat in U.S. prep history.

Hana Moll produced a 15-foot clearance (4.57m) on her first attempt at Arcadia High, after surpassing Amanda Moll’s national outdoor high school all-time mark by clearing 14-10 (4.52m) on her second opportunity, the 34th high school record produced in meet history.

Hana Moll, who needed a third-attempt clearance at 13-9 (4.19m) to remain in the competition, also eclipsed the meet record of 14-8 (4.47m) achieved in 2019 by former Northwest Pole Vault Club teammate Chloe Cunliffe of West Seattle High, who, like the twins, was also coached by Tim Reilly.

Amanda Moll, who cleared 14-9.50 (4.51m) at last year’s Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays to achieve the national prep outdoor record, still boasts the all-time high school indoor mark of 15-1.50 (4.61m) from her Jan. 13 performance at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit in Reno.

Hana Moll also eclipsed her sister’s American U20 outdoor record and is equal to the No. 7 all-time competitor in World U20 history.

Amanda Moll, who achieved a 13-3 (4.03m) clearance Saturday to place second, is the No. 3 all-time World U20 indoor performer, in addition to securing the American U20 indoor record in Nevada.

Iliana Downing of La Costa Canyon High in California also cleared 13-3 to take third.

Hilton Green of Buchanan High in California continued his impressive progress, adding another three inches to his personal-best performance, clearing 16-9 (5.10m) on his second attempt to prevail in the boys invitational pole vault, with Seth Nelson of Boise Senior High in Idaho and Dylan Curtis of Redondo Union High in California both achieving 16-3 (4.95m) clearances.

Green cleared 16-6 (5.03m) on April 1 at the West Coast Relays at his home facility at Buchanan High’s Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis.

JaiCieonna Gero-Holt, a sophomore at Emerald Ridge High in Washington, repeated as girls invitational high jump champion with a first-attempt clearance at 5-10 (1.77m).

Gero-Holt, the top returning heptathlete in the country, also finished fifth in both the invitational shot put at 41-3 (12.57m) and the seeded 100-meter hurdles (14.64m).

Meagan Humphries of Castaic High in California cleared 5-8 (1.72m) to finish second, before producing a thrilling sixth-round performance in the triple jump to defeat reigning state champion Alyssa Hope of Martin Luther King High.

Sydnie Vanek of Clovis High and Humphries made it a California sweep for the girls invitational long jump and triple jump competitions.

Vanek, the reigning California state champion, achieved a wind-legal leap of 20-7.50 (6.28m) in the second round and added a 20-4.75 (6.21m) jump in the sixth round to secure the victory, with Hope finishing second at 19-11.25 (6.07m).

Vanek, who produced the national outdoor leader this year, became the first female athlete to produce a 20-foot long jump at Arcadia since 2017.

Humphries finished fifth with a leap of 19-2.25 (5.84m), before emerging victorious in the triple jump with a 39-9.50 (12.12m) effort in the final round to edge Hope at 39-8.50 (12.10m).

Bothell High senior Haedyn Bambolo, an Arizona commit, captured another invitational title for Washington, winning the girls shot put with an opening-round mark of 45-10 (13.97m).

Bambolo, who placed second last year, achieved a personal-best 47-1.25 (14.36m) on Wednesday in a KingCo League meet in Washington. She also finished 12th in the invitational discus Saturday with a 119-foot effort (36.27m).

Galadriel Mellion of Weston Ranch High in California, an Arizona State commit, secured second in the invitational shot put at 41-8.50 (12.71m).

April Fontenette, a UCLA-bound senior from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High in California, rebounded following three fouls in the invitational shot put to win the girls invitational discus with a fifth-round performance of 153-1 (46.65m).

Nailea Fields, the defending California state champion and an Oklahoma commit from Caruthers High, was second at 152-10 (46.58m) and Fontenette’s sophomore teammate Aja Johnson took third with a personal-best 148-3 (45.18m), in addition to finishing third in the shot put at 41-7 (12.67m).

Tyler Poole of Layton High in Utah produced a lifetime-best 192-6 (58.67m) in the fifth round of the invitational boys discus throw to edge Oklahoma-bound Brendon See of JSerra High in California and his 192-5 (58.64m) performance.

Benjamin Shue, a sophomore at Bergen Catholic in New Jersey, won the boys invitational shot put with a lifetime-best 63-5.50 (19.34m) in the sixth round, following a third-place finish at 187-2 (57.04m) in the discus.

Ja’varis Ambrose of Thornton Township High, who is remaining close to home to attend college at Illinois, placed second at 61-2 (18.64m) and See took third with a 59-3 (18.05m) effort.

Brennen McHenry of Brophy College Prep in Arizona outlasted Brandon Gorski of Mater Dei High in California to win the boys invitational high jump with a 6-9 (2.05m) clearance. Gorski cleared 6-7 (2.00m).

McHenry saw his bid to become the first athlete since Mike Morrison of Willingboro High in New Jersey in 2003 to win both the invitational high jump and long jump in the same year encounter challenges with a 10th-place effort at 22-1.75 (6.75m) in the latter.

Zach Fagin of Los Altos High in California produced a clutch sixth-round leap of 23-9.25 (7.24m) to achieve a personal-best performance and win the invitational long jump crown, rallying past Nasir Tucker of Palo Verde at 23-5 (7.13m).

Karson Gordon of Episcopal High in Texas achieved a fifth-round mark of 49-3 (15.01m) in the boys invitational triple jump to win the competition by more than a foot.
